NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course

What you will learn: Essential gun safety rules Different types of pistols and which one is best for you The basics of ammunition The fundamentals of pistol shooting Different shooting positions The most common shooting errors Proper gun cleaning and maintenance How to maintain your skills Just a few things: 1. Make sure you have your NYS pistol permit and your handgun with you when you come to the course. ***NO GUNS OR AMMUNITION ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM PORTION OF THE TRAINING*** We will be using the handguns on the range outdoors after the classroom portion of the course. 2. The NRA recommends each student bring at least 200 rounds of ammunition for your firearm. I would suggest bringing more, but 200 would suffice. 3. Please be sure to bring safety/shooting glasses, hearing protection and any weather appropriate clothing (could be 20 degrees or 80 degrees....it is New York after all). 4. Pack a lunch/drinks/etc. I am looking forward to having all of you in the course!
